Makes it All Worth It!

I wanted to share about my time last night singing for a nursing facility in Port Chester, NY.

I was invited to sing praise & worship songs for the residents. A good friend of mine currently lives there.

She is 50 yrs old and has Multiple Sclerosis. 

I have so much to tell, but besides my good friend enjoying herself listening to the music and singing a couple on the microphone as well, I met a man named Joe in the audience.

Joe was kicking his leg up and playing the air guitar while we all sang songs.

I noticed he carried a book of Psalms in his hand. 

Joe used to be a grade school teacher and taught music. He couldn't speak to communicate that to me, but wrote some words on a piece of paper which helped me to understand what he was trying to say.

When the music was over, Joe went up to his room and came back down with an oil painting of "Sunflowers" on a canvas.

He pointed to the painting and then pointed to me to try and tell me he wanted to give it to me.

My heart was overwhelmed. 

From one artist to another, we exchanged our gifts. I gave him one of my CDs.

It was a beautiful night!
