Nursing Homes
I have been singing at nursing homes lately. For whatever reason, this has become something very dear to my heart.
What is it about elderly people that makes me want to keep going back to love them? Well, I think it gives me a
perspective on life. This will be me, this will be you, this will be all of us someday.
They live in facilities where some feel they are forgotten, some are depressed, sad, lonely and hanging on day by day.
When I visit them I have an hour of pure joy and wouldn't trade it for the world.
I could go on and on about the time I spend talking with them, loving on them....ect.
I have gotten to know some of the residents on a personal level and it has enriched my life.
I don't think I could work in a nursing facility. I would probably become quite depressed myself.
However, visiting them on a regular basis to sing and enjoy them must be the part I am to play in their life
and them in mine as well.
Just wanted to share and hope it may inspire you to visit people once in a while just to let them know you are
thinking of them. It means alot.

It is all about sharing His love and you do that so well. You gift is giving of yourself through your songs. When you are in His will blessing others with your gift, the Blessings just flow. When you are not, you know it.

I know the feelings and emotions that you are experiencing. I did that for several years at the Montgomery Nursing Home before I became the pastor of Foursquare. I did worship services on Thursdays and I had a vocal group which sang and ministered to the elderly. We sang to a group of people that met in the common area and then we went to individual rooms and sang and ministered to those who couldn't leave their rooms. My wife would go from time to time and just read to them. We were so blessed.

Amazing ... Thats.. Living in His Love and Sharing the Love of Christ to the aged !~ I Love the care for the aged and I care for my mother she is 74 now !~ She was in hospital for 70 days on and off with great tribulations of health for past 3 years... She is now well only because of care and love.. and off course because of the hand of God. I have a passion for the home for the aged and care at least for few of them. Nothing can beat Love.. Jesus gave it all at the Calvery and we must give it to those who are comfortless...God is Love ..we must share His love with those who are feeling left behind !~ What a difference Jesus made for us all. Amen.
